Hivelocity announced this week that is has completed the replacement of every battery in its power backup UPS system. The Hivelocity battery backup system consists of 3 battery banks. The first battery bank is the primary with the other two being redundant banks. The old battery banks were nearing end of life and the time had come for them all to be replaced with new 12 volts. The new backup system is configured to allow for a handful of batteries to fail on any or all banks without any interruption in power. “We will be posting some pictures of the new battery setup on our site within the data center tour very soon” says Hivelocity GM Steve Eschweiler. Hivelocity has added both Level 3 and Time Warner Telecom to its list of bandwidth carriers this week. The addition of these two carriers further enhances the global reach of Hivelocity’s network.
